Here are three strategies to consider.

Contingency planning: Write down the risks you perceive. Strategize about all the different ways you can deal with each risk. Rather than fretting over the risks, make some backup plans and make them attractive and competitive.

Bootstrapping: Can you bootstrap and slowly grow into your dream? (For example, if your dream is to create a software product, can you offer a related service around the idea first?) You might be able to build the product as part of the consulting projects.

Managing Uncertainty: The source of risk is often uncertainty. Can you isolate the uncertainty and do some research to lower it? How can you leverage your network and the experts in it to get you some answers?
