How to Deal with Naysayers
When you have unique or ambitious ideas, learning to deal with the naysayers in your life can be crucial to your success. But before we go on, let me first play the devil’s advocate and ask “what if they are right?”. How do you determine whether you are the next Steve Jobs or Don Quixote?
Here are some questions to ask yourself.
- Do these naysayers really have my best interests in mind or is it about them?
- Are they projecting their own fears and worries onto me?
- How are their experiences, strengths & weaknesses different from mine own?
- Who can I go to for some trusted objective opinion? People who are in the position to evaluate my idea.
If after your analysis, you determine your idea is a good one and wants to go for it. Then, you may want to figure out:
- Who are the most positive influences in my life that support me in my goals?
- How can I spend more time with them?
- Where can I find more like-minded supporters?
I hope you find your community! Wish you the best!
